EBS has the expertise to process your social
security disability and supplemental security income cases including claims
involving psychiatric conditions.
EBS patient advisors have proven themselves
to be an invaluable asset to SSDI/SSI Department. They have
established contacts and sources within the Social Security Administration
(SSA) and with various healthcare providers.
This level of expertise has allowed EBS to
distinguish and submit SSI claims to the SSA based on a profile of need.
Below are the descriptions of these categories:
- TERI Cases - This
special classification defines terminally ill patients who are not
expected to survive. These claims are handled on an expedited basis
due to the time limitations imposed by the patient's medical condition.
- Presumptive Cases -
This classification applies to claims in which the patient's disability is
visible or readily identified. Examples of such cases include AIDS,
loss of limbs, complete paralysis, etc.
- Categorically Eligible
Cases - Candidates falling within this classification of cases must
be or have been disabled for twelve (12) consecutive months and the
disability must be the result of at least one of the
thirteen(13)impairments defined by the SSA Below:
- Musculoskeletal System
- Special Senses & Speech
- Respiratory System
- Hemic and Lymphatic System
- Endocrine System and Obesity
- Digestive System
- Genital-Urinary System
- Neoplastic Disorders
- Skin Disorders
- Neurological System
- Mental Disorders
- Cardiovascular System
- Immune System
EBS has developed a processing procedure for
patients/claimants seeking disability benefits from the SSA. We have
worked very closely with Social Security Administrations and Disability
Determination Sections in Developing procedures and specific forms to help
expedite the processing of SSI claims. All referrals submitted to SSA
are prescreened by EBS staff. This measure benefits local SSA offices
by reducing the number of applications filed unnecessarily.
